During the program you will become knowledgeable about local concerns and resources, extend your professional network, and gain valuable project and team leadership experience through an introduction to the various aspects of developing and maintaining a vibrant community and
establishing dialogue with a wide range of community leaders.
Active participation in activities that contribute to the betterment of Allen and/or Fairview; and enhancing your knowledge and leaderships skills in order to benefit your employer and have a positive impact on the business community.
The nine-month program is designed to identify, motivate, and develop business and community leaders who can contribute more effectively to the companies they work for and to instill a sense of community and the importance of volunteerism. Each month participants are introduced to a different aspect of Allen Fairview and Collin County. These aspects include city government and services, education, health and human services, economic development and justice and law enforcement.
In addition, participants have the opportunity to build their leadership skills through targeted leadership skills development programming each month as well as two full days of leadership training and team building. Our leadership skills development partner also spends one-on-one time with each participant, a further indication of our desire to build confidence and experience in all our participants. By committing just one Thursday each month you will accelerate your professional career, discover the value of community volunteerism and build lifelong friendships.
Costs associated with the program are held to a minimum thanks to the support of the Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce and the Alumni company sponsorships. The application fee is $50, which may be refundable if applicant is not chosen for upcoming class. Tuition for the entire 9 month program is reviewed annually and posted on the application form.

The Leadership program of the Allen Fairview Chamber is open to all Allen or Fairview residents or members of the Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce. An admission application is available on this site, at the Chamber of Commerce, 210 West McDermott, or by calling 972-727-5585. The Leadership class meets one day per month, from September through May from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants also attend a day and a half orientation program and complete a class project of their own choosing during the year, but outside of the class time.
Total cost for the 9-month program is determined by the Committee annually after careful review of proposed programs and associated costs. A $50 application fee is required of all applicants. If applicant is not chosen for the class, the application fee may be refunded upon request. Tuition is $800 for Chamber members/$900 for non-members and includes lunches, speaker fees, materials and transportation when necessary.
